This page explains which cookies and similar tools https://tuscanhideaway.com uses, in line with Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003) and the Italian data protection authority's guidelines of 10 June 2021.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a site saves in your browser to remember information during your visit or on later visits. Similar tools, such as local storage, work the same way.

Technical cookies (no consent needed)

The site needs them to work, so they are always on:

ca_consent, first party: remembers your cookie choices. Duration: 6 months.
PHPSESSID, first party: only created when you send the contact form, to prevent repeated submissions. Duration: until you close the browser.
Cloudflare Turnstile, third party (Cloudflare, Inc.): protects the contact form from spam and may use technical tools strictly needed for that purpose. It is not used for advertising or profiling. See the Turnstile privacy notice.

Third-party cookies (only with your consent)

Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd): shows the map in the "Where we are" section. The map and its cookies only load if you give consent in the banner or click "Show the map". Duration and details on Google's cookie page.

What we do not use

The site uses no profiling, advertising or analytics cookies. The fonts are hosted on our own server, so they are not loaded from outside services.

How to manage consent

On your first visit a banner appears. You can accept all cookies, reject them or choose which ones to allow. If you close the banner with the X, you keep browsing with technical cookies only. Your choices last 6 months; after that we will ask again, and sooner if the cookies we use change.

You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page or the button below. You can also delete cookies from your browser settings.
